Grand Challenge · Lifespan Wellbeing
Lifespan Wellbeing & Cognitive Resilience
The wealth of a nation begins with the wellbeing of its people and the commitment to advancing lifelong health for human flourishing and societal prosperity.
The Premise
From treatment excellence to health for all
Switzerland has an opportunity to evolve its healthcare system by complementing its strong foundation in high-quality treatment with a greater focus on prevention, shifting performance upstream toward earlier intervention and improved risk management. Rebalancing priorities toward prevention-led care can enhance system resilience, improve population wellbeing, and strengthen long-term sustainability.
The Imperative
Structural pressures in the Swiss healthcare system
Rising Healthcare Expenditures
Lifespan-Healthspan Gap
Limited Data Interoperability
Workstreams
Rebalancing lifespan wellbeing
A structured experimentation aiming to generate evidence, connect data, and demonstrate that prevention-led, personalised, and predictive system redesign is both viable and financeable.
2026 Initiatives
Co-creating the building blocks of a new health system
-
Ecosystem Mapping
As a prerequisite to system-change orchestration, we first bring together fragmented initiatives and actors to build a shared understanding of the ecosystem, supporting more coordinated and impact-oriented collaboration.
-
Federated Data Insights
We work with partners to explore privacy-preserving, interoperable ways of connecting existing health and population data, enabling more responsible and useful insights across systems for more targeted interventions.
-
Digital Twins
We aim to translate available data into shared learning and foresight, helping better understand health trajectories and their implications for prevention, equity, and wellbeing.
-
Demonstrators
We aim to co-develop demonstrators that bring together critical actors, data, digital/tech stack, incentives, and care models to test integrated approaches to early screening and wellbeing.
-
Investable Pathways
We explore co-investment approaches with private capital owners, insurers, employers, and public actors, including shared baselines, risk-sharing mechanisms, and evaluation frameworks for prevention-oriented investment.
-
Policy Reforms
We support dialogue on enabling conditions, such as education, workforce development, and prevention financing, to help emerging models become more scalable and widely adopted.
