Version 0.1 — published 25 April 2026. This charter is binding on all SIPI staff, contractors, advisors, board members, and contributors. It is reviewed annually by the Foundation Board and may only be amended by a two-thirds vote with public notice.
Scope
This charter governs all public outputs of the Swiss Impact & Prosperity Initiative — methodology papers, demonstrator evaluations, foresight reports, citizen-process syntheses, policy briefs, press releases, and convening proceedings. It applies whether outputs are released under CC BY-SA 4.0 or under more restricted licences for early-cycle drafts.
Editorial independence
SIPI publishes only what its Scientific & Technical Council has reviewed. Funders, partners, and host institutions (including B Lab Switzerland Foundation) do not see, comment on, or influence findings before publication. Pre-publication review is restricted to: (a) factual error correction, (b) confidentiality redaction for legally protected data, (c) translation accuracy. No funder, partner, or board member may delay, suppress, or rewrite a finding.
Funder firewall
SIPI accepts no funding that is conditional on outcome, framing, or selection of subject matter. Maximum share from any single donor in any twelve-month period: 25%. All funders are named publicly on the About page; conflicts of interest are declared and recused at the Council level. Programme staff salaries do not vary with funder satisfaction.
Non-partisanship
SIPI does not endorse parties, candidates, or referendum positions. Staff and Council members may hold and express personal political views, but never as SIPI representatives. Outputs cite federal, cantonal, and parliamentary sources without preferential framing of any political grouping.
Cantonal sovereignty
SIPI works alongside, not above, cantonal authorities. Demonstrators and data initiatives operate under explicit cantonal partnership agreements that respect Article 3 of the Federal Constitution and the LPD/FADP. SIPI never aggregates data across cantonal boundaries without each canton’s prior consent.
Conflicts of interest
All board, council, and staff members file annual conflict-of-interest declarations. Recusals are documented per output. The full register is available on request. Material undeclared conflicts are grounds for removal.
Corrections
Errors in published outputs are corrected promptly. Material corrections are timestamped and archived; the original version remains accessible via the document version history. Material errors trigger a public note on the homepage Insights stream.
